HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The rush is on!

By 3:45 this morning, there was a line at the Hobby Airport security checkpoint as travelers begin heading to their Thanksgiving destinations.

While Tuesday's pre-dawn security line didn't slow travelers down, you are urged to keep an eye on wait times if plans call for air transportation.

An estimated 1.2 million people are expected to pass through the Houston Airport System - Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental airports - over the next 10 days.

And the age old advice holds true: pack light, get to the airport early, and keep an eye on the weather. New for this year, you are urged to be mindful of your small electronics due to an enhanced screening by TSA.

"If you have an electronic device that normally you can put in your bag or carry-on that is larger than a cell phone, they are asking that those devices be pulled out and put into a separate bin so be prepared," advised Bill Bagley, of Houston Airport System. "We tell everyone coming to the airport to be prepared, know what you are going to have to do to get through the security lines quicker."
