Two people were injured after chase suspects slammed into an ambulance, causing it to overturn, according to deputies.
The chase began on the Gulf Freeway just after 3 p.m. A Precinct 8 patrol deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle whose plates came back as stolen.

Authorities said the suspects failed to stop, continued onto Beltway 8 eastbound and exited at Fairmont, where they then ran a red light and slammed into an ambulance, causing it to overturn.
Two Hispanic males exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly apprehended.
A patient in the back of the ambulance was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A chase suspect was also treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Hours later, Pearland police said two people accused of a hit-and-run and retail theft refused to pull over for officers.
A short chase ensued, but the suspects lost control of their car and flipped over, sparking a small fire in the car's engine.
Officers rescued the suspects, who are now in the hospital.
