Suspect charged in armed robbery of Whataburger restaurant

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Harris County Sheriff's deputies arrested one suspect following a carjacking and an armed robbery in northwest Harris County.[br /][br /]Investigators said the suspect, 19-year-old Samual Gilder, carjacked a woman and her daughter at their apartment complex early Tuesday afternoon.[br /] [br /]Authorities said after the carjacking, Gilder used the car in a robbery at the Whataburger located in the 12000 block of Veterans Memorial Drive.[br /][br /]The carjacking victims said they had just returned home from a doctor's appointment when Gilder approached them with a gun.[br /][br /]WATCH: Carjacking victims explains the moment the 19-year-old suspect stole her car[/b][br /][media ID="3149647" /][br /][br /]"We all can be a victim, but it's how we handle it. I thought about kicking the gentleman in his private parts because of the training that I had, but he was shaken," said Jacqueline Thomas.[br /]
[br /]She said that's when she realized she should not put up a fight.[br /][br /]"He wasn't watching my daughter. At this point, I had to stop.
