HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The young patients at the Texas Children's Hospital have a new friend to help them through treatment.

"Pinto" is the hospitals newest therapy dog.

The hospital says the two and half-year-old golden retriever will offer emotional support to those having trouble coping with a hospital stay, a new diagnosis or a medical procedure.

When he's not on the job, Pinto enjoys playing with toys and the company of the hospital's other two therapy dogs.
