At 9:56 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at the 5000 block of Doolittle Blvd., according to police.
The teen was leaving a convenience store on Doolittle Blvd. when a black sedan began to follow him, police said.
Multiple shots were fired from the sedan, striking the young man.
Police said the teen ran away after the first shot and collapsed further down the street in the 7200 block of Guadalcanal Road.
Upon the officers' arrival, the teen was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they are questioning witnesses and waiting to review surveillance footage.
