Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that deputies responded to a home in the 8400 block of Parasol Lane near West Road.
Gonzalez said two teens, the 14-year-old victim and his 16-year-old cousin, were at the home when one of them may have been shot unintentionally in the upper torso or head area.

The 14-year-old was reportedly transported to the hospital in critical condition.

ABC13 was at the scene of the shooting, where multiple people could be seen weeping and leaning on HCSO patrol vehicles.
It's unclear how exactly the shooting unfolded. Deputies say they do not know where the weapon came from or who the gun owner is.
There is no word on initial charges, but Gonzalez said according to Texas law, parents could be charged if a gun is not secured.
