Jibril Hardy's biological mother, Amanda Borland, gave him up for adoption when he was a baby.
She told Inside Edition that she had been searching for Hardy since his 18th birthday.
Borland lives in North Carolina.
Earlier this month, Borland searched for Hardy on Google. Unbeknownst to him, she was able to find a Twitter account.
The rest is history.
"I was in shock," Borland told Inside Edition. "I showed my husband my phone and I just started crying."
