6 hurt when car accidentally crashes into Staten Island laundromat

TOTTENVILLE, New York -- Six people were injured, three seriously, when a driver crashed into a laundromat on Staten Island Sunday morning.

A 74-year-old man accidentally went into reverse while trying to park and slammed into the building on Page Avenue in the Tottenville section at about 8 a.m., authorities say.

EMS says the injured were taken to Staten Island University Hospital.

Three people suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The other three suffered minor injuries.



No criminality is suspected in the accident.
