Just after 8 p.m., the State Fair of Texas on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, stated there was an emergency order due to an alleged shooting and that the park was being evacuated.
The Dallas Police Department sent out a post that said the investigation was ongoing and that all were asked to avoid the area.
It was learned that the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation between two people near the food court, according Adam R. Bazaldua, a Dallas City Councilmember.
Bazaldua stated he spoke with a city manager regarding the matter and confirmed at least three people were injured.
Their conditions are not known at this time.
A short time later, Dallas PD confirmed one suspect was taken into custody.
Officials said the park was being evacuated for everyone's safety.
