HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Forty years after opening its doors in Houston, Stages Repertory Theatre is getting a new home.
After receiving a $5 million matching gift from longtime patrons Glenda and Russell Gordy, the theater's new home will give their company three new stages and the technology necessary to bring the organization into the future.

The Gordy, as it will be called, is set to open in 2019.
The new campus will be located just south of their Allen Parkway facility at 800 Rosine Street.
The designers of The Gordy say the new theater will maintain the intimacy audiences have come to celebrate at Stages, but will also prioritize the patron experience.

Visitors will find ample parking, better accessibility, and more food and beverage options.
Stages will break ground on the new facility next summer.
