Firefighters said the heavy fire was coming out of the second and third stories of the building that was under construction.
Officials said the building completely caved in after about 45 minutes of being on fire. The fire chief noted that it was in the early construction, making the walls lightweight with no exterior walls.
South Montgomery County's Battalion Chief Nathan Huffman said one firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be OK.
