University of Houston, Sam Houston, Texas Southern, and Prairie View A&M have had their games canceled or postponed due to Hurricane Harvey. Rice already started their season in Australia last week with a crushing defeat by Stanford.
The road to the play-offs starts now and the match-ups are already crucial.
Here are the must watch games this weekend:
FSU vs Alabama - 7 p.m. Saturday on ABC13
Damien Harris ran for a touchdown and blocked a punt, and Jalen Hurts chipped in with a scoring pass on a night that basically required the sophomore quarterback to make no major mistakes, leading Alabama to a 24-7 beatdown of No. 3 Florida State on Saturday at Atlanta's new $1.5 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Michigan vs Florida - 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC13
No. 11 Michigan rolls late, beats No. 17 Florida 33-17.
LSU vs BYU - 8:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN
No. 13 LSU (1-0) beat BYU 27-0.
Texas vs Maryland - 11 a.m. Saturday
Tom Herman's Longhorns did look a lot like Charlie Strong's Longhorns against Maryland. Terrible tackling. Messy special teams. Costly penalties. The Terps played the fourth quarter with a freshman backup quarterback and still put away the ranked-23rd-but-not-for-much-longer Longhorns, 51-41.
Texas A&M vs UCLA - 6:30 p.m. Sunday
Neither of these teams are preseason ranked although they did get votes. This may seem like a mismatch except that by the end of the 2016 season, the Aggies were allowing over 200 yards a game against Power 5 opponents.
Baylor vs Liberty - 6 p.m. Saturday and TCU vs Jackson State - 7 p.m. Saturday
Stephen Calvert threw for 447 yards and three touchdowns and Liberty spoiled Matt Rhule's coaching debut at Baylor, stunning the Bears with just their second-ever loss to a lower-division team in a 48-45 victory.
