A big portion of that 15,000 took over one of the most recognizable landmarks Sunday: the Angel of Independence monument.
It was a celebration that lasted about an hour and for a brief moment, it felt like a Houston tailgate party. It's the first time that Monday Night Football has ever played outside of the U.S.

"We need to show that this Monday night on prime time, we're going to do it this time around," said traveling Texan Joe Garcia. "Even away from home."
"The culture here is so beautiful, all different races to see, it's a great day," said Larissa Guerra.
Aside from traveling Texans, locals are excited to have 'los tejanos' here as they call them in Mexico City. Brother and son Edwin and Guillermo Rosas are huge fans of 'futbol americano' and say it's nice to see the visitors.

They say this trip will hopefully unite both countries in a time when tensions are high.
Also in Mexico City, the Houston mayor and other city leaders. They say their main goal is to build relationships and represent Houston well.
