University officials said the suspension of Kappa Alpha stems from a hazing investigation from the spring semester.

According to a letter that SMU sent to parents, investigators found evidence of things like paddling, new members forced to consume alcohol and jalapenos until they vomited and forcing them to wear soiled clothing.
The ruling effectively shuts down all the fraternity's activities on campus.

They have been given until Saturday to empty all belongings out of the Kappa Alpha house.
