Houston YMCA program aims to end summer learning loss

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A discussion on a YMCA of Greater Houston program designed to help end summer learning loss for students.

It's called "Power Scholars" and aims to help disadvantaged students, not only retain, but gain math and literacy skills.

Researchers say kids can lose two or more months of skills over the summer break.

Guests are Curtis Lemieux, with the YMCA of Greater Houston and Tai Ingram, Principal at KIPP Liberation School.
