Monday, September 4, 2017
CLEVELAND, Texas (KTRK) -- You might not know Rex Evans, but chances are you may have seen his letter that hit Facebook on Monday afternoon.

The Cleveland ISD police chief penned a very heartfelt message to JJ Watt, whose fundraiser for Houston Harvey victims is closing in on $20 million.

Evans posted the letter, thanking Watt for helping those who have been affected by the devastating floods.

"Your fund raising efforts haven't quite made it this far past Intercontinental Airport. But hopefully, soon though, they will," Evans wrote to Watt. "Truly, whether they do or not isn't really my point, this morning. It's the fact you gave and continue to give."
