CVS employees duck for cover as thieves ram truck into store

Monday, April 3, 2017
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An alarm likely scared off some would-be thieves during an attempted smash and grab in northeast Harris County, but not before they caused some serious damage to the store.

It happened at a CVS store off North Sam Houston Parkway and Mesa around 2 a.m.

Two employees were inside the store when a black truck was used to smash a gaping hole in the wall.

The store's employees locked themselves in the bathroom and were not hurt.

They said three men in hoodies jumped out of the truck and approached the ATM, but the store's alarm sounded and scared them off.

Investigators said the would-be thieves didn't take anything with them.
