Extra sleep on the weekends won't help you: study

Sleeping in on the weekend may not be enough to reverse the damage from the sleep you lost during the week.

A new study from the University of Colorado found insufficient sleep affected the times people ate during the day and threw their metabolism off balance.

Those participants were more likely to snack after dinner and gained weight.

Getting extra sleep on the weekends did not change those metabolic effects.
