5 bystanders injured after police shootout

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (KTRK) -- Innocent bystanders were waiting at a bus stop Sunday when they were struck by bullets during a police shootout in New Orleans.

Investigators say it is still unclear if the bullets came from police or the suspect.

Officers exchanged gunfire with a robbery suspect, killing him.

Four of the injured bystanders are in stable condition while the fifth is in critical condition and required surgery.
