Shelter-in-place lifted after 2-alarm fire in NW Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A shelter-in-place has been lifted for areas in northwest Houston after a two-alarm fire broke out Wednesday afternoon.

The shelter-in-place affected the Spring Branch area, specifically areas south of 290, west of Fairbanks North Houston Road, east of Beltway 8 and north of Clay Road.

Firefighters expressed concern there may be dangerous chemicals in the air after the fire.



Firefighters were called to the location in the 5800 block of Dierker Drive just before 4 p.m.

According to HFD, one employee of Intercontinental Bearing was injured and taken to the hospital with burns to both arms.

No other details have been released.
