HOUSTON (KTRK) -- He knows when you are sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.
And now Santa can help keep the kids in check during a meltdown.

A Houston father of two toddlers has created an app that encourages kids to behave with a little help from Kris Kringle.

You push a button, and the SantasWatching smartphone app sends a pre-recorded message to your phone letting the child know he's always watching.

Rick Gillis said all parents have had an embarrassing moment with their toddlers at the worst possible moment.

For Gillis, watching a little boy's temper tantrum spun into motion what became an incredible idea between he and his wife.

The SantasWatching app helps calm children as they listen to the words of Saint Nick.

You can even play a message letting them know when they have been naughty or nice.

The app comes with three different messages that play in rotation, convincing children the North Pole's most famous resident really is keeping an eye on things.

You can buy the app for just $0.99 in the iPhone App Store.
