Masked bandits terrorize workers at Church's Chicken

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Employees at businesses along Cullen Boulevard say thieves target them constantly, but with multiple armed robberies over the last month, they're growing more fearful to come to work.

"I'm scared to come to show up here," Church's employee Yesenia Guevara said.

Masked robbers ran into the O'Reilly's Auto Parts store at 9009 Cullen waving a gun and demanding cash.

The employees did what they were told, but that didn't stop one robber from pistol-whipping one of the workers.

That was on October 2. Eight days later, it happened again a block away at a Church's Chicken.

Houston police tracked down surveillance video of both incidents and matched the behavior and appearance of the robbers. They believe the same men are responsible for both crimes.

Guevara happened to have her daughter and niece at work the day the robbers showed up. She said they were all held at gunpoint.

"I give him all the money, but he wanted more. He said, 'Give me more. Give me more, or I'm going to kill you!' He would have killed me and the girls, and the other girl on the floor," she said.

If you have any information on these crimes, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
