Road rage incidents spike during holidays

Monday, November 21, 2016
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- 'Tis the season for road rage.

As the holidays approach, law enforcement sees a spike in stressed out drivers.

And on the roads, we all have our pet peeves:

"When people don't use their blinkers," said one driver.

"When drivers don't keep up with the flow of traffic," said another.

When that happens, it seems we just can't let it go.

"I'll honk my horn."

"I'll cut in front of them, then I'll slow down."

"People are pulling out baseball bats, going after people," said one HPD police officer. "It's not worth your safety."

Lola Clay, an anger management specialist says use the parking challenges to improve your health. And make it worth your while to be kind.

"Make it up in your mind that you're going to be that courteous person," Clay said.
