HPD investigating woman's death in southwest Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman's death is under investigation after authorities said she was found dead in her apartment in southwest Houston on Saturday.

According to the Houston Police Department, the SWAT team responded to the shooting call at around 2:30 p.m. on Braesvalley Drive.

A department spokesperson told ABC13 a group of the victim's friends were concerned after not hearing from here. When they went to check on her at the apartment, the gunman was inside threatening them and her.

The group called 911, and when officers arrived, the woman was found deceased.

The SWAT team was also called to search for the suspect, but they were not able to locate him.



An investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear what led to the shooting.
