The mall said that, out of an abundance of caution, the curfew will be implemented starting Saturday at 3 p.m. Anyone under the age of 18 will have to show a valid ID to prove their age. If they are under age, an adult will have to accompany them.
Officials said at least one adult over the age of 21 will be able to accompany up to four young people at a time. The mall said that trained safety officers will be at the entrances to verify the ages of those who wish to enter.
Willobrook Mall's Parental Guidance program is in response to recent "teen takeovers" that have been seen on social media since the beginning of May.

Last month, several gunshots rang out, and over 500 teenagers were found at Discovery Green in downtown. At least six were arrested, and police said the gathering was advertised on social media.
The takeover prompted the park to close and come under heavy surveillance.
Back in May, Willowbrook Mall implemented multiple "Parental Guidance" weekends, and Memorial City Mall followed suit with a curfew to avoid takeovers.
