School officials said they expect to welcome students back to campus on Monday, August 24, but the date could change depending on whether professionals determine that the school is safe for students and staff.

So far, officials have said that qualified third-party environmental professionals are completing remediation efforts, corrective repairs, and environmental testing at the school.

- Specialized commercial-grade air scrubbers have been installed throughout the campus to target airborne microbial contaminants, including mold, bacteria, and viruses.
- All interior carpet has been removed for replacement.
- The entire campus has undergone a third comprehensive cleaning using an antimicrobial cleaner, with all surfaces cleaned from floor to ceiling as part of the ongoing remediation process.
- HVAC units serving the kindergarten area, which were identified as a significant source of increased moisture this summer, have been demolished and removed for replacement.
- Testing of wall assemblies has continued, with removal and replacement occurring in areas where conditions warrant.
- The HVAC system continues to operate under the direction of our environmental professionals as part of the drying and environmental remediation process. Air scrubbers also remain in operation as preparations continue for additional environmental testing.
Friendswood ISD said Kinder Camp and Meet the Teacher have been postponed, but not canceled.
School district officials also said no other campuses were affected and that they will start as scheduled.
