PALMDALE, CA -- A terrified dog was rescued after running loose on a freeway in Palmdale, California, and then taking shelter under a patrol car.
The dramatic rescue during rush hour traffic was all caught on camera.

Drivers called 911 after spotting the dog dodging in between cars on the freeway. When help arrived, the dog ran under a patrol car and refused to budge.
It took California Highway Patrol officers and a tow truck driver with a hydraulic jack approximately 15 minutes to get the dog out.
Animal control officers said the dog either jumped from a car or was abandoned on the highway. He seemed to be in good condition.
