Driver dies after crashing into 18-wheeler, shutting down US-59 SB feeder road at SH-99 for hours

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash involving an 18-wheeler shut down the southbound feeder road of US-59 at SH-99 Lanier Parkway for hours on Friday.

The crash was reported on Houston Transtar shortly after 6 a.m. and cleared just before noon.

The City of Sugar Land said the 18-wheeler was not fully pulled over on the feeder road when a driver crashed into it.

The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.

Police are calling it a tragic accident.
