SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) -- Italian cinema lovers should head to Fort Bend County this week for Umbria in Sugar Land, a film festival celebrating films from the Festival del Cinema Citt di Spello ed i Borghi Umbri.
Umbria runs from Sept. 27 until Oct. 1 at the Sugar Land Auditorium. A film screening will take place daily at 7 p.m., with additional afternoon screenings on the weekend.
"La mia Italia," "Il bene dal male," "Torneranno I Prati," "La Pazza Gioia," "Il vangelo secondo mattei," "Ho Amici in Paradiso" and "Veloce come il vento" will be screened in Italian with English subtitles.

The films screened will be competing in four different categories: best film, best screenplay, best cinematography and best directing. The judging panel includes Donatella Cocchini, Max Leonida, Ana Villaronga Roman, Marian Luntz, Sandra Celli-Harris, Kim LeBlanc and Clifford Pugh.
On Saturday, Sept. 30, an educational seminar will run from 9:30 a.m. until noon. There will be three different sessions: the art of sound effects with Matteo Bendinelli, a screening of "Beyond" and a talkback with Sugar Land resident Adrian Pacini and a filmmaking session with Sergio Carvajal-Leoni.
