Toddler dies after being found unresponsive in swimming pool in northeast Harris Co., HCSO says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 2-year-old boy is dead after being found unresponsive in a pool at a home in northeast Harris County, the sheriff's office said.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded to the 500 block of Lago Trace Drive on Sunday around 6 p.m. in the Huffman area.

The toddler was found in a swimming pool and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

According to investigators, several family members were home when the drowning happened.

Investigators said they are working to determine exactly what happened and how the child ended up in the pool.
