HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect has been charged and arrested for a deadly northwest Houston shooting that happened in 2020, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officials said that they have named 25-year-old Chandler Lusk in the shooting death of Tyrome Ervin.

Lusk, who officials said is already in the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on unrelated charges, has now been charged with murder, HPD confirmed.

The agency said that on Dec. 3, 2020, officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex located at 1415 West Gulf Bank Road at around 6:55 p.m.

When they arrived on the scene, they found the 24-year-old victim with first responders, police added.

At the time, investigators said they found that a then-unknown suspect in a tan Buick sedan drove by and fired shots at Ervin.

HPD said that further investigation identified Lusk as the suspect.
