The attack happened on April 21, according to the victim, adding that nearly three weeks later, the suspect has not been arrested or charged.
"It's definitely scary, I've never really been in a situation like this," the victim, who did not want to be identified out of fear of retaliation, said.
"It's been hard for me to come outside and to go anywhere by myself because I don't know if she's been following me, I don't know if she's been stalking me, it's just scary. It's given me anxiety for sure," the victim said.
She told ABC13 she does not know the woman who attacked her that day.
"It's affected me because I can barely walk, I can hardly stand sometimes without my knee hurting or sending a shooting pain up my leg," the victim said.
Her mother said they immediately filed a police report with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office and were later told the case was passed off to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
When ABC13 reached out to HCSO, officials would not answer specific questions, only stating they are investigating the case.
Her family said they learned through deputies and other surveillance video that investigators know who the suspect is.
They said they were also told she recently got a gym membership and the day of the attack, asked for a tour, and specifically asked the victim to give it to her.
After ABC13's numerous phone calls to law enforcement, the family said they later got a response from the sheriff's office, learning a detective has now been assigned to the case.
