Suspect detained, search underway for others after police chase ends in southwest Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A traffic stop involving a reportedly stolen vehicle led to a police chase in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

SkyEye was following the pursuit as officers chased the red car that was speeding through the South Beltway and later on surface streets.

HPD confirmed to Eyewitness News that the vehicle was involved in a traffic stop in the 10000 block of Greenfork Drive on Thursday afternoon. They did not say whether the driver initially stopped and complied with the traffic stop.

SkyEye was over the end of a police pursuit that ended in southwest Houston. HPD said the chase involved a reported stolen vehicle.



SkyEye was overhead at the end of the chase on Furman Road & Almeda Genoa Road.



HPD later updated that one person was detained in connection with the chase, and that a search was underway for more suspects, but did not say how many.
