PARK CITY, Utah -- The new independent movie "Sorry, Baby" shows the complex aftermath following a traumatic life event. Earlier this year, On The Red Carpet spoke to the director and cast while attending the 2025 Sundance Film Festival about why audiences should watch their comedy-drama film.

"In particular, people who have been through difficult times and feel stuck and feel like, you know, they're not moving forward as much as other people. And, it's finding empathy in that for yourself, and realizing that, like, the healing process takes a long time," Naomi Ackie (Lydie) shared. She also pointed out the importance of "having the right people around" and how "Sorry, Baby" feels like a "universal story."

Co-star Lucas Hedges plays Gavin, the nice neighbor, expressed his hopes for this movie to feel like a "hug" to accompany the sensitive storytelling. Kelly McCormack (Natasha) gushed over co-star, writer, and director, Eva Victor, calling them "extremely funny, and smart, and talented."

Victor, the multi-hyphenated creative who plays Agnes, opened up to On The Red Carpet about keeping a close circle of friends, "There are so many fantastic directors who are women, directors who are queer, directors who are non-binary and trans. And, I think, find them and like, hold each other because that's what I do with my friends. I have filmmaker friends and I keep a close circle of like queer and friendly filmmakers who keep me going when it feels lonely."

"Sorry, Baby" is in theaters now.
