HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash reported on Kuykendahl Road in north Harris County left a truck with major damage to its front end, SkyEye13 images showed.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that one person died as a result of the crash.

ABC13's helicopter was over the wreck on Friday afternoon, and the images of the aftermath showed the truck right behind an 18-wheeler hauling cargo.

Images shot by SkyEye13 showed the truck with extensive damage behind the 18-wheeler.

The truck's bumper and hood were peeled off, and a white liquid was spilled over the roadway, images showed. Law enforcement officers closed the street as the investigation was underway.

According to deputies on the scene, a truck with a trailer was stopped in the lane, waiting to turn into a construction site, when a pickup truck smashed into it from behind. The driver of the pickup was rescued from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said the big rig had all its flahsers and protective lights on at the time of the crash. They added that it was unknown if the man who died was distracted or suffering of some type of medical incident.

Authorities said an investigation is underway.
