SkyEye captures moment high-speed pursuit on East Freeway ends in Channelview, person in custody

CHANNELVIEW, Texas (KTRK) -- A person is in custody after law enforcement were led on a high-speed chase along the East Freeway that ended in Channelview, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.



Texas DPS said troopers attempted to stop a vehicle near I-10 and John Martin Road in Baytown on Wednesday afternoon, but the driver fled.

Troopers said the pursuit ended near the intersection of Woodforest Boulevard and Sheldon Road in the Channelview area, only a few blocks away from Channelview High School.

ABC13's Don Armstrong was in SkyEye, who was tracking the high-speed pursuit via law enforcement radio scanners.



Texas DPS confirmed they took a suspect into custody for evading law enforcement, but did not say why troopers first attempted the traffic stop.
