HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Four months after Adrian Madrigal, 16, was murdered in northeast Houston, police have still not caught the killer. Saturday, dozens of Madrigal's family and friends posted flyers in the area where the teenager was shot to death, hoping someone who knows something will come forward.

"Make a phone call or something. That's all they have to do," said Hector Madrigal, Adrian's father. "I'm sure somebody knows what happened."

Hector Madrigal says life since his son's death is barely manageable.

It's been really hard, really hard. Just waking up every day and not seeing him is really hard."

"It will never be the same without him. I knew him all his life, literally, and it's just hard to explain living without him," Hector Madrigal Jr. said. Adrian was his younger brother.

Investigators think Madrigal was the victim of a carjacking. When he was killed on May 6, 2015, someone told police they heard shots then saw one man leave the area in a white, four door, mid-sized sedan, and another drive away in a black GMC Yukon. Earlier that evening, Madrigal was seen driving that same model black SUV. Investigators have few other details

"I thought it was going to be a very simple case because this is his neighborhood everybody knows him and we don't know anything at this point," said Hector Madrigal.

"This happened in this community. Somebody in this community is going to know who did it and if this was their family member killed, they would want someone to come forward and speak. That's all were asking." Mark Coleman said, with Houston police.

Family and friends hope hanging new posters in the area will get people talking again. The flyers have details about the case along with the Crime Stoppers number: 713-222-TIPS (8477).

A $15,000 reward is being offered to people with information that could lead to an arrest.
