The Meadows Place Police Department confirmed the shooting happened in the 11600 block of Scottsdale Street.
ABC13 was the only news station at the scene of the investigation. Images showed a home surrounded by crime scene tape as law enforcement officers conducted an investigation.
Investigators confirmed that a person was found injured at the scene and that they identified a person of interest. The person of interest was detained, and the victim was rendered aid, but was later pronounced dead.
MPPD confirmed that the person of interest will be questioned and that no charges have been filed at this time. They added that the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's office were assisting them.
Police did not provide any further information, citing the ongoing investigation and respect for the victim's family.
