Person killed in single-car crash on Highway 288 outbound near Beltway 8, Pearland PD says

PEARLAND, Texas (KTRK) -- One person was killed in a crash along Highway 288 on Wednesday morning, the Pearland Police Department said.

The single-vehicle wreck was reported at about 4:43 a.m. on SH 288 southbound at Spectrum Boulevard near Beltway 8, according to Houston TranStar.

At one point, SkyEye13 flew over the heavy backups from the crash. In a 10:26 a.m. update, TxDOT said the incident had cleared, and all lanes were reopened.



Police did not say what led to the crash or identify the victim, but an investigation is ongoing.
