A spokesperson with the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office told ABC13 the single-car crash was reported late Tuesday night on the West Sam Houston Tollway northbound at Central Plaza, which is before Highway 290.
Investigators said the vehicle hit the tollway plaza and caught on fire, killing the only person inside.
Pct. 5 said it's unknown if speed played a role in the crash at this time.
The wreck led to several lane closures throughout the morning, but cleanup remains underway.
