Pedestrian killed in Northwest Freeway crash in Jersey Village, Harris County Sheriff's Office says

JERSEY VILLAGE, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said an investigation is underway after a pedestrian was reportedly killed in a crash on the Northwest Freeway on Sunday morning.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that officers from the Jersey Village Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian in the 16000 block of the Northwest Freeway.

When they arrived, officers said they located an unidentified white man lying in multiple lanes of the freeway. Investigators said officers assessed the man and pronounced him dead at 3:24 a.m.

Authorities said it is unknown at this time if the pedestrian was trying to cross the freeway before the crash. Officials did not release any information on the vehicle or the driver involved in the crash.

HCSO said its Vehicular Crimes Division is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
