The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said the crash happened near Bammel Road and Greenbrook Drive and involved a pickup truck and a dump truck.
Pct. 4 initially said two people had become trapped inside a vehicle. In a later update, deputies said a female passenger had died, and a male driver had been removed from the vehicle.
It's unclear whether anyone else was injured or what led the trucks to crash.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area, as deputies said the road would remain closed while the investigation continues.
