The Pasadena Office of Emergency Management said it received reports of a chemical or gas odor in different areas of the city.
"The Pasadena, Texas, Fire Department has responded to multiple locations to investigate these reports and, at this time, has not detected any readings indicating unsafe air conditions," OEM officials said in a statement, adding that they also contacted Harris County Pollution Control to assess the air quality.
Pasadena officials said it appears that Next Wave Energy Partners, an oil and natural gas company on N. South Street, is conducting flaring operations at its facility.
OEM said it will continue to monitor the situation closely.
