SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A 30-year-old man in Spring is accused of trying to entice a 12-year-old girl by sending messages to her school-issued laptop.

Shamone Sanford has been charged with the felony of enticing a child. In court documents reviewed by ABC13, the girl's parents first alerted Klein ISD Police when they noticed messages from an adult to their daughter on the school-issued Chromebook.

The disturbing messages laid out in court documents show Sanford allegedly asking to meet up with the girl at her school bus stop and other locations.

On Sept. 23, records show Sanford and the girl messaged multiple times. The following is part of that exchange, according to court documents.

"What are some things you would like to do with me since we together?" Sanford said. "Idk anything," the minor said. "You gotta lmk what you want to do.. and what you mean anything? Anything I want to do are you down to do it?" Sanford said. "Anything you wanna do," the minor said.

Records show Klein ISD police also believed one of Sanford's sisters helped identify the girl, and that they likely attended school together. Investigators also believe this is not the first time Sanford has tried to entice young girls.

On Oct. 10, while police said they were already monitoring their communications, he allegedly messaged her again, saying the following, according to court documents.

Sanford said: "I want to see you when I get off work at 4 a.m. Bae text me I need your company. I'll be there at 4:30. Bae, where you at? Come to the stop sign."

After that exchange, authorities say Sanford and the girl met up for about half an hour at a nearby park. Later that same day, police said Sanford was found and located at his apartment complex within walking distance of the girl's bus stop.

Sanford is currently on parole after serving time for a 2013 aggravated robbery case. He is now in jail, and if he makes bond, he must stay away from the girl and her family.

Klein ISD confirmed that the school district's police department is also working with the Texas Department of Public Safety on this case. Additional charges are possible.

Klein ISD sent out this statement to families Monday evening.

Dear Klein ISD Families,

We want to make you aware that the Klein ISD Police Department (KPD) arrested an individual, who is not a Klein ISD employee or Klein ISD student, for the felony offense of enticing a child.

Our ongoing investigation, conducted in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, has found that the individual used online communication, including social media and Klein ISD email addresses, to contact two Hofius Intermediate students. The families of these students have been contacted directly by KPD and are working with law enforcement.

As the investigation continues, we will continue to protect the privacy of these Hofius Intermediate students. However, we wanted to make all families aware of this serious situation as we value our parents as critical partners in keeping our students safe at school, online, and at home. Please speak with your children about online safety, including the importance of not sharing personal information and being cautious about who they communicate with online.

We know that news like this can be unsettling. The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority, and we will continue to work closely with local law enforcement and Klein ISD personnel and families to ensure our students are safe.

As always, if you or your child has any information or concerns, please report your concern to https://kleinisd.net/KeepKleinSafe or contact the Klein Police Department at (832) 249-4266. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools and community safe.

Sincerely,
Chief Marlon Runnels
Klein ISD Police Department
