MISSOURI CITY, TX (KTRK) -- Missouri City police have released the dash cam video showing the moment an officer jumped off a bridge when an incoming driver slammed into his patrol car.
Police say Christie Diane Biggers, 46, lost control of her vehicle, and headed straight towards 39-year-old Officer Kenneth Lewis. The rookie police officer then made a split second decision to jump 23 feet rather than risk being pinned.
Lewis was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital's trauma center where he is still recovering.
Biggers, a PE teacher at Scalan Oaks Elementary, was arrested and charged with intoxication assault.
