HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An attic fire in a commercial office building forced the building's evacuation and led to a firefighter being treated for heat exhaustion, according to the Houston Fire Department.

The flames ignited in the 6000 block of Richmond Avenue in west Houston on Saturday afternoon, according to firefighters.

Deputy Fire Chief Bryan Sky-Eagle said investigators suspect the fire began as an electrical problem in the building's attic.

Office employees in the building were forced to evacuate as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

"There were no injuries to civilians, but we are evaluating one captain firefighter who experienced heat exhaustion," Sky-Eagle said.

Images from the scene showed firefighters cleaning up the aftermath of the fire and broken windows.

Sky-Eagle said that firefighters did not hear any fire alarms or see any sprinklers activated.

Firefighters said the fire was under investigation.
