NWS issues Flash Flood warnings for parts of the Texas Hill Country through Thursday evening

According to the National Weather Service a Flood Watch is in effect for parts of the Texas Hill Country, I-35 corridor, southern Edwards Plateau, and Rio Grande Plains through Thursday evening.

On Tuesday, the NWS indicated a high risk of flooding rain for portions of the U.S. 90 corridor west of San Antonio, particularly affecting the southern Edwards Plateau and the Rio Grande.

NWS also noted that certain areas could receive an additional 10 to 20 inches of rain. Storm totals across the rest of the area are under a Flood Watch of 2 to 6 inches of rain, NWS added.

Tuesday's hearing for former Uvalde, Texas, school police chief Pete Arredondo was abruptly postponed due to excessive rain and flooding in parts of Texas. Arredondo is charged with 10 counts of endangering students for allegedly failing to quickly respond to the May 24, 2022, shooting, in which 19 students and two teachers were killed. A new date has not yet been scheduled for the hearing.
