They tell ABC13 that dangerous, loose dogs have been causing havoc in their community, even killing people's pets.
Eyewitness News spoke to a family who says they've seen these dogs in this area for months and are worried.
In fact, a spokesperson with animal control says they've responded to calls five times since October and still haven't been able to find the dogs. That family and others worry that if nothing is done, things could get worse.
For the Williams family, moving to Huffman meant a place to enjoy the peaceful and simpler things, such as being around nature and raising animals. But for the last several months, they say much of that peace has turned into worry.
Because they believe there are several dangerous dogs showing up in their neighborhood.
"These dogs aren't just going to be trotting along the street. They are in the trails. They are in the woods." Shannon Williams told ABC13.
According to Williams, the dogs are also going onto people's properties. She said earlier in the week she took her kids to see Tilde, who is her family's pet pony they keep at her parents' house nearby.
That's when she said they found Tilde dead and believe the precious animal was taken away after a vicious dog attack.
"I was visiting with the little ones in the back and then heard screaming and hysterical crying. I jump out, and the girls are running towards me and telling me that Tilde is dead. And so I go, I get them in the car, and I go over there to see. And there were two dogs still standing over her, and she was dead." Williams said.
Williams said over the years, Tilde became a sweet and loving family member, someone her girls would often visit.
Tilde wasn't the only family animal they've lost. Williams believes dogs also attacked some of their chickens one night when they were out.
"We were really upset, especially the girls. They love their chickens. They were devastated."
While they've had to say goodbye to some of their beloved animals, this family just wants the feeling of peace and safety they moved here for.
"We're outside all the time. Our children are outside all the time. And now I'm afraid to let them out without me. I mean, we have to stay together, and it's just no way to live."
Crews from animal control were seen in the area after Action 13 reached out for information.
