That's the opening line in the trailer for "Everest: The Other Side," which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival.
The film, directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, follows elite ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson as they try to fulfill their shared dream of climbing and skiing the North Face of Everest - the most difficult and dangerous climb on the mountain and the most coveted ski line on earth.
Vasarhelyi and Chin are no strangers to death-defying subjects. Their documentary, "Free Solo" won an Oscar in 2018! They're also known for "Love+War," "Lost in the Jungle," "Endurance" and more. Their Little Monster Films teamed up with National Geographic and Walt Disney Studios for "Everest," which is now making the rounds, with screenings at the Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Camden International Film Festival and BFI Film Festival.

"Everest: The Other Side" will open in theaters and IMAX worldwide on October 30.
