According to a NASA release, five research aircraft, part of a Student Airborne Research Program (SARP), will be flying out of Ellington Field from Wednesday through Saturday.
The agency says they'll be used to map the movement of gases and particles in Earth's atmosphere.
NASA says the flights will primarily take place in the Houston area, with some extending over the Gulf.
Among the aircraft will be WP-3D Orion, which NASA says is owned and operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and is used as a hurricane hunter. Officials added that it will conduct maneuvers as low as 1,000 feet above ground level.
Those who would like to track the flights in real time can use the NASA Airborne Science Program Tracker.
